Hi everyone!
I have seen a lot of the blogs, I follow, posting projects they have done with vinyl today, so I thought I would share something I did with vinyl.
This is a project I made for my wedding last July, in Kapolei, Hawaii.
In Hawaiian wedding culture there are a lot exchanges that take place, such as a lei exchange, and an exchange of breath. I grew up in a Catholic household and having been to many weddings in the church one of the customs is to light a unity candle. In the Hawaiian culture, unity sand is the same concept, so since I wasn't getting married in a church but rather a beach in Hawaii I wanted to incorporate this idea.
Here is my take!
This is the glass container I found at Ben Franklin.
I wanted it to be something pretty, but also something with a lid that would stay closed, so the sand wouldn't get damaged.
It cost me a whole $4.09!
I also bought two glass mini vases to hold the sand to be poured into the container.
I decided to make it more special, so I added some of the ribbon and raffia I had used in my invitations.
Then I cut out the words Love on my cricut, but I can't remember what cartridge.
This is what I looked like at the wedding on the table before the ceremony began.
My sand is the purple one because I couldn't find burgundy sand, and my husbands was blue.
Here is us pouring the sand one by one into the container!
Here is how it looked after!
Here it is on my shelf at home!
I love how it came out!
I'm glad we got to incorporate this cool exchange at our wedding!
Hope you liked it!
Happy Crafting!

awww :) That's so sweet! And very very pretty :)
I'm thinking of doing the same thing for our wedding in May. I love that it's something you can keep and decorate with
Thanks!
Kristen: I am really glad we did that, you should totally do it for you wedding. Its something you will have to remember your wedding day thats special, other then pictures and dried out flowers. Lol!
We did this at our wedding I saw it done at a wedding at my church and ever since then I wanted it done at my wedding. I think it is so much cooler than the unity candle. I wish I would have gotten a container that had a lid. It is sitting on our bookshelf with no lid getting dust in it because I can't find a lid.
this is very awesome!! TFS!
What a cute idea! I love how you decorated the outside of the jar, too.
