Hi Everyone!
I haven't posted in a few days, so I wanted to show you what I have been working on!
As you know from my Cami wreath post that my husband is being deployed in March. :(
I have seen some deployment countdown boards that some of the other wifes/families have, but they weren't really what I wanted. So of course, I decided to make my own!
I couldn't really decide what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to incorporate some blocks. One day while making my husband/craft jr. shop with me at Ben Franklin, he suggested I make a box instead. ( I call him my craft jr., because when I get crafters block he always throws in his thoughts and am once again crafty!)
This is my take on the idea!
I painted 6 blocks yellow and 2 red for the Marine Corps colors, and covered the box with scrapbook paper I had from my Marine Scrapbook. I liked the paper because it looks like dirt that boots walked in.
I cut all the letters, numbers and stars out on my cricut using the George cartridge.
I found the camo ribbon at Ben Franklin and knew I had to use it on this project.
The buttons are from his cami's I cut up from my wreath!
This is how the inside looks!
The top slides off and it holds the extra blocks not being used that day!
I love how it came out!
Hope you liked it!
Happy Crafting!

Once again Erin, you do no less than amaze me with your creativity :) I really love reading about how your husband helps get you out of your crafters block :) That is very sweet of him and I sure do wish mine could do the same! lol Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks Libby!
This is awesome. Boy 365 days seems like a very long time...I hope he isn't really gone that long.
Fabulous project! Sad that it has to be for deployment but you did a great job on it. Maybe when he gets home safe and sound you can turn it into a birthday or anniversary countdown. :)
This is such a great idea! Love it! You have a new follower, and I hope you'll stop by my blog, too!

Could you help me out and tell me what numbers go on each block? My hubby is deployed right now and I would love to make one but I am having trouble figuring out all of the number placement. The help would be great! Thank you so much!
